I finally made the leap. The deal was too good to be true, and only three miles from home! Now, I just have to learn to thread the thing! It's not often that I feel that luck is on my side, but I hit a jackpot this weekend! Thank you, CraigsList!
Congrats on the serger ... have fun threading it. When I first got my the first thing I did was pull out all the thread the came with it. My mother, who was with me at the time, let out a loud gasp. I asked what the heck was wrong. That's when I learned we never, ever take the thread out of our sergers ... just cut the old, tie on the new and pull through to switch threads.
Live and learn. I was able to re-thread, but it took a few minutes, whereas the cut/tie/pull technique takes seconds.
Yay for craigslist and persistence! I can't wait to see what you make with it.
